Often referred to as North Carolina’s “Mystery Tribe", the Neusiok people lived south of the lower Neuse River within Eastern North Carolina. The Neusiok (sometimes referenced as "The Neusioke") historically spoke "Iroquoian" and are ethnically related to the Coatan people.
