Walter Jones Bellamy is widely known as a professional basketball player. As a player for Indiana State, he was a four-time NBA All-Star. After graduation he continued his basketball career. Bellamy was a member of the gold-medal winning 1960 American Olympic Basketball Team. After his retirement from the NBA, Bellamy was active with the NAACP, the Urban League and the YMCA in the Atlanta, Georgia area.
